Who doesn’t want their business to move up a rank or two to
come into the limelight, to gain the attention of Google, and to bring in more
visitors? But, for that, you need the right SEO tactics; that’s obvious, isn't
it? However, along with having the right SEO tactics and the right SEO services in India, it is also
important to eliminate all that is causing your website harm, and putting your
efforts down the drain. What we want to specify is that you need to fight spam.
If you remove some time out of your busy schedule and have only a modest
session of spam fighting, it can help yield significant local ranking
improvements. And, if this is what you want to do, here is a guide helping you
understand what all you can do to fight spam the easy and quick way.

Step 1: Search
You need to first perform a Google search for the keywords
or phrases for which you most desire improved local rankings, or for which you
want to increase visibility in more distant areas that are out of your
potential reach. Once you type what you want to search for, you will be given a
short list, with a “More Businesses” link at the bottom. Clicking this link
will take you to the “Local Finder” list, which is the best place to see how
things stand beyond the first 3 results that make up Google’s local packs,
letting you know of the companies that you need to surpass to move up towards
the local pack inclusion.
Step 2: Create a spreadsheet
Find your business on the “Local Finder”. You may be up at
position 5 or down at 20, but if you just aren’t on the list, you need to
troubleshoot whether there is a suspension, a filter, or an eligibility issue.
Make a spreadsheet to record your findings. Populate the spreadsheet by cutting
and pasting the name, address, and phone number of every competitor ranking
above you
Step 3: Identify
obvious spam
Now, out of the lot, you need to identify the most obvious
spammy businesses. To identify them, you need to just take basic steps such as
looking at the Google Streetview image that may seem vague, looking for a long
business name that looks only like a set of keywords, check if the numbers
listed are working, confirm the locations listed, or any other violations that
you may come across.
Step 4: Report the
spam to Google
Now, you need to report such fake or spammy businesses to
Google. For this, you can fill up Google’s Business Redressal Complaint Form
and let Google know why a listing should be removed. You may click the “Suggest
an edit” button on the listing to have a popup appear. Then, you can choose
from the “Change name or other details” or “Remove this place” options. Fill
out all the other details, and finally hit the “send” button to wait for the
results.
Step 5: Enjoy the
results!
Within an hour of filling the form, you must receive an
email thanking you for your contribution. Within the next 24 hours, you will
see lots of changes for all those businesses you reported for. Some will change
their positions, while the others will be completely out of the list! You will
also see some new listings making it to the top 20, due to the changes made to
the old top ranking ones. And, it’s quite possible that you would make it above
your spot too!
So,
here’s how you can easily improve your local ranking position by simply
eliminating all those businesses from the list that are spam.
